The following exhibitions were written and curated by Anna for the Heritage Lottery funded Oral History Project, Untold Stories.
Untold Stories was set up by volunteers to capture the memories, experiences and personal histories of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans community in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
The Pilot Exhibition, hosted by Leicester Central Library, was written to celebrate the launch of the Project, in History Month, February 2012. This was the first LGBT exhibition to be hosted by the library.
A touring version of the exhibition travels throughout the region to support LGBT events. The exhibition has been displayed in a variety of venues, including Pride festivals, colleges, and the Curve Theatre, Leicester.
Shown here at Newarke Houses Museum, Leicester. Nov 2014.
The permanent exhibition is now housed at Leicester LGBT Centre. It is one of the first permanent LGBT exhibitions in the UK.
Untold Stories DVD
Anna has also produced and curated a DVD as part of this project. The DVD brings together: archive footage of the first official Leicester Gay Pride in 1986; with poetry from local poet Bobba Cass; and selected poignant clips from the many oral histories preserved by this project.
